Atlanta fall events focus on regional businesses and culture to celebrate the best the season has to offer. These five October events are just a sample of what’s going on around the city this month.
Taste of Atlanta
If you’re a fan of fine food and drink, Taste of Atlanta is the place to be from October 21 to October 23. This gathering of over 90 restaurants gives you the chance to sample popular dishes from local eateries. Starting with a kickoff party on Friday night, the festival includes a “Kitchen Workshop” offering tips to improve your own cooking, a chance to learn more from local chefs at the “Chef’s Table,” and even a Big Green Egg grilling stage.
With free beer and traditional food, Oktoberfest on October 15 is everything you’d expect from a German-themed fall festival. Get a VIP ticket to enjoy commemorative swag, a VIP area and admittance to the VIP beer line. Play life-sized yard games to reconnect with your inner child, and round out the day with a meal of German culinary specialties as you listen to live music.
Atlanta Game Fest
Board game fans can game to their hearts’ content at one of the most playful Atlanta fall events. Held in the Marriott Perimeter Center from October 27 to October 30, Atlanta Game Fest is a four-day board gaming marathon. Purchase membership access for yourself, bring a friend or sign the whole family up for nonstop gaming fun. Stay at the Marriott to catch every minute of the festival, including tournaments, a flea market and guided tours of retro toy and game collections.
The Veggie Connection
It’s time to get curious about vegetarian and vegan living on October 29. Whether you’re already plant-based or have been wondering what all the fuss is about, this Veggie Connection event has a lot to offer. Watch food demos, hear knowledgeable speakers and try delicious foods as you learn more about the health and environmental benefits of “going veg.” Network with other vegetarians and vegans, pick up useful dietary tips and begin to see what you eat in a whole new light.
Country Living Fair
No list of fall events would be complete without an old-fashioned country fair. Visit Stone Mountain Park the weekend of October 21 through 23 for a festival filled with antique vendors, vintage and handcrafted items, folk art, home décor, upcycled goods and more. From handmade treasures to homemade food, the Country Living Fair celebrates everything good about living the simple life. This is the place to be to discover the hidden talents in the Atlanta area as you meet local artisans showcasing their works.
Put these Atlanta fall events on your schedule this year for an exciting October filled with food, fun and festivities. Thanks to the unique offerings of the area, you’ll enjoy something a little different at all October events and walk away with a new appreciation for the local scene.
